'The Brand Edit' Lightroom Preset
I wanted to craft a preset that emulates a warm and muted look, similar to those in campaigns from brands like Banana Republic.
Golden highlights and mid-tones, cool shadows, and a touch of grain are just a few of the characteristics integrated into this preset, which works best on warmer imagery with prominent skin tones and blue skies.
However, it also adds a unique cinematic flair to casual urban and street photography in overcast, cooler-toned environments.
This includes a single preset with 4 additional modifiers:
Grain Removal/Grain Removal Reset: I wanted to include a quick shortcut for adding and removing the built-in grain I have in this preset, depending on your personal taste and need.
Skintone Adjust/Skintone Adjust Reset: Just in case you’re finding the skin tones to be a little too red for your liking, this will push them slightly away toward a more natural orange tone.
Q: “Are there Before & After examples?
A: Swipe through the gallery to view this preset in a few different lighting scenarios. Each example has no additional mask, retouching, spot removal, or color adjustments. The only change from applying the preset is in Exposure and White Balance adjustments. I wanted to showcase exactly how this would look after just a simple application.
Q: “How do you recommend I use this preset?”
A: I intentionally made it so that it leaves your White Balance and Exposure adjustments untouched, so make sure to dial in both of those first!
Q: “How do I access this preset in Lightroom Classic?”
A: Under the ‘Presets’ tab on the left-side panel, click the ‘+’ icon, ‘Import Presets…’ and then import the ZIP file containing the preset and modifiers.
Q: “Can I share this preset with other users?”
A: Sharing presets with other users is strictly prohibited and considered to be software piracy.
